Distance Learning Builds Capacity
in the Americas
In
November, professors from Latin American and Caribbean universities
that have disaster distance education programs will join experts
in Internet-based training and international organizations
that deal extensively in traditional training for disasters
to evaluate the appropriateness of existing models and methodologies
for distance learning based on the Internet and other information
and communication technologies. Work groups will identify
priority areas and topics in public health and disasters around
which to develop virtual courses. More about this workshop
in the next newsletter. Background information on the web
at www.disaster-info.net/
