Looking for more information on pandemic and avian influenza? CRID, the Regional Disaster Information Center, has compiled a substantial amount of material on the topic and is making it available on CD-ROM and over the Internet. The material is organized into three sections:

• Preparedness and response plans from countries in Latin America and other parts of the world; communications tools and strategies for communicating risk; and public information, including frequently asked questions about avian and human influenza—all of which can be downloaded in full-text format.
• A comprehensive list of links to important web-based sources of information.
• Contact information for the Ministries of Health, Red Cross Societies and Civil Protection organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
